I have a project with a large previously developed area. It will have several green roofs with different native species but the total green area onsite will not be enough to comply with the requirement of the credit. Can the project compensate for the missing area by making a donation to a land trust that complies with the credit requirements?

If you do not have enough area to comply with option 1, your only option is to follow requirements of option 2, which is to provide financial support equivalent to at least $0.40 per square foot for the total project site area (including building footprint). Therefore, you will not comply with credit req'ts by providing support for missing area.
