I’m reading through old threads below, but can’t find my answers:

In v2009 the elderly people living in a nursing home were exempt from the bicycle requirements. Is that still so? (Or is the answer that it is institutional and not residential in this case?)
Does long-term bicycle parking (>2 h according to the FAQs) need to be covered or does it not need to be covered? Seems that the answers vary below… (In the printed ref guide it is noted in the definitions last in the chapter). Does anyone have the latest answer (for NCv4)
In my city bicycle bollards are common for fastening/locking bikes to. Do they meet the credit requirement? Hi Maria,

1. The rating system variations section of the reference guide includes an exception for Healthcare projects - the same logic should apply to a nursing home that falls under LEED-NC rather than LEED-HC.

2. Yes, that should be covered. Not necessarily indoors but under some kind of cover to protect from weather. I only see that spelled out in the definitions as well, but it's been my understanding from the start of v4 that long term parking must be sheltered.

3. Those look fine. Someone posted on one of these threads that if it's designed to be a bike rack, it meets the definition, and that makes sense to me - I know I've had the experience of encountering an insecure rack not mounted to the ground, or one located up against a wall so you can't fit bikes on both sides, so even very basic good practice goes a long way for bike infrastructure!
