EBOM-2009 WEp1:Minimum Indoor Plumbing Fixture and Fitting Efficiency

No Restrooms!

I do have two buildings in the same campus trying to certificate for LEED EBOM. One of them (building 1) is 100% office space area, the other one (building 2) is basically a warehouse but it has a small office area. Building 2 does not have any restrooms, that means the occupants have to go to building 1 to use the bathroom. My question is: Can building 2 qualify under LEED EBOM under this conditions ( how is possible to meet the WEp1 requirements)? If they do, would be possible to earn points under WEc1 using the building 1 restroom as if it was from building 2?

Diego, Taken from LEED users page for water efficiency in LEED CI, (http://www.leeduser.com/credit/CI-2009/WEp1) the following should be of interest: Our project does not have any eligible water fixtures in the project boundary. Can we comply with WEp1? Yes, per LEED Interpretation #10214: "A project without eligible water fixtures in the LEED-NC project boundary is exempt from WEp1. Should such a project wish to pursue points under WE Credit 3, they may do so by evaluating WEc3 performance based upon all of the fixtures that are necessary to meet the needs of the project occupants, even if they are located outside the project boundary." I'm hoping that you can sight this LEED Interpretation as evidence.

Thank you Mr. Barry. It was really helpful. It is actually a LEED EBOM certification, but it seems to work for it as well.

Hello there, I have a similar situation, a Lab building in a university campus. No restrooms. Only wash basins in each lab. Would it comply with LEED v4 BC+C New Construction?

Hi Elda - I wasn't able to find a concrete answer for you, so recommend reposting your question to the BDC v4 forum to get more eyes on it.
