Hi, all!
According to "Fundamental Refrigerant Management" prerequisite, there should be no CFC at all in New Construction (NC BD+C) Project. The engineers in our team say, that according to ASHRAE there is a certain level of CFC, that can be used.
Can you please share your experience? I am convinced that CFC should be excluded, as it is clearly stated in the Prerequisite requirements, but would like to clarify with experienced APs.
Thank you in advance.

the prerequisite does not address equipment with less than 0.5 lbs (225 grams) of refrigerant - per the language of the prerequisite.
although i am unaware of a building cooling systems that contain less than 0.5 lbs of refrigerant.
It has been my experience that CFC refrigerants have been banned for quite some time (maybe 30+ years??).
odd that this would be an issue/concern for LEED or non-LEED.

Thank you for your reply! Currently almost all newly installed equipment are CFC-free. However there is a prerequisite, and it needs to be properly documented. Our intention is to secure ourselves from any small risks that the Refrigerant management plan or any other related documentation wording can cause.
