Is BIFMA e3-2014e accepted by LEED? I can only find a credit clarification regarding e3-2012 being OK. Thanks!

Hi Brian. I find this question a little puzzling. ANSI/BIFMA e3-2011 is not considered in v2009, but it is mentioned in the v4 Low emitting materials credit, as one of the many standards to comply with (You can find a list of all acceptable standards here: http://www.usgbc.org/resources/low-emitting-materials-third-party-certification-table) . I guess an updated version of the same standard would be acceptable.
However, you should also evaluate which rating system version is being used If it is 2009, BIFMA e3-2014e is not mentioned (not even in a LEED Interpretation), so you should explore a credit substitution (http://www.usgbc.org/articles/new-leed-v4-credit-substitutions-2009-projects). Please be advised that there are many requirements to be fulfilled.
If your project is already v4, then I think you should mention that you are using a more recent version of the standard, providing evidence that is equal or more stringent than the previous one. I hope this helps.

LEEDv3 references e3-2008, but then there's a credit clarification referencing e3-2012. I don't see any mention of e3-2011 or e3-2014e in LEEDv3, but it stands to reason that each year would result in the release of a more stringent upgrade which LEED would adopt. Just looking for verification of this.
Our project is LEEDv3, not v4.
Thanks
Brian
