Hi!
the only method to check compliance is this?
- Based on Space Floor Area – Both
Interior and Perimeter Spaces
- Limitation on Distance of Interior
Spaces from Perimeter Openings
And...when i have a industrial building (hangar), I must analyze only the openings area? It's impossible to compliance the distance of openings in a environment like this.
Thank you very much!

Pablo, take a look at table 6-4. I believe you could group a hangar in there with a parking garage (especially since they typically do not fire the engines inside the hangar). This would make a hangar an exhaust only space. Note C would allow you to delete the exhaust requirement if you have two sides that are at least 50% open.

Sorry, the hangar that've mentioned is like a storage, and not a garage.
But, my question is....if i need to compliance the percentage of openings (4% of area), how can i use the table 6-4 to calculate these openings?
thanks!

You are confusing the natural ventilation requirement with an exhaust requirement. If the area needs to be exhausted then that is your method of ventilation. If it is a storage space and is not an occupiable space then neither exhaust nor natural ventilation are necessary.

Andrew, i'm confused about one thing.
If my storage is an occupiable area i need exhaust or natural ventilation. To exhaust i'll use the rate of table 6-4.
If i consider natural ventilation and not mechanical exhaust, i need to use just the percentage of total openings area?

Pablo, if you are storing hazardous material then you need to exhaust it. If it is just dry storage then you can use natural ventilation. In that case I would only apply the requirement to the area that is being occupied. For instance, if you have a desk type work area with a huge storage area behind it then apply the calculation to the desk area.
