We are pursuing Master Site certification on several buildings that are served by the same plant. AGMBC Appendix A states that each building shall need to pursue the prerequisite/credit individually, but does not clarify on how the central plant should be modeled. Is it acceptable to model all buildings in the same energy model, and assign individual meters to each building? Or do the buildings need to be modeled separately? In that case, would the central plant be modeled as a DES and subject to the guidelines of "Treatment of District or Campus Thermal Energy in LEED V2 and LEED 2009 – Design & Construction"?

I would think you could do it either way. Just need to be able to show each building complies individually. Sounds like you could apply the DES. It is often a good idea to do so but it is not required.
