I'm working on a 5 story hotel in San Jose, Ca. The project is considering adding Microturbines. Has anyone modeled these in EnergyPro? If so, are they modeled in a similar manner to solar arrays? How do I account for both the energy generated, and the "free heat" (quoting USGBC) these systems produce in the EnergyPro energy model?

Software specific questions are usually best asked of the vendor's customer service or through one of the forums at onebuilding.org
Microturbines would not be at all like solar panels since they consume gas and produce electricity. Both would need to be accounted for in the modeling results. The free heat would assume that there is waste heat recovery associated with the microturbine system. If the software cannot model this system for LEED then you need to provide a work around, ideally one that has been published by a reputable source, and prepare an exceptional calculation.
