NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Modeling "cool roof"

Greetings,

The project we are modeling is located in climate zone 6. The proposed case has decided to use “cool roof: with SRI of 0.44 (reflectance 0.39 and emittance 0,89).

The question is: should the Baseline case follow the option for all climate zones except 1, 2 and 3, meaning reflectance 0.3 and emittance 0.9 or it should follow the other option (prescriptive for climate zones 1, 2 and 3) with reflectance 0.55 and emittance 0.75.

Use 0.3/0.9 in the baseline. In a climate zone 6, if the roof is reasonably well insulated, you should not really see much, if any, impact.
