The minimum energy performance calculator is not specifically listed in the "required documentation" section of this credit like it is for other credits (Indoor Water Use Reduction, for example, specifically calls the calculator out as a requirement).
Has anyone successfully achieved this credit without uploading the calculator? We would like to rely on the energy modeling software documentation rather than the LEED calculator.
Upon design preliminary review, USGBC/LEED reached out to ask for the calculator that was missing.

My guess is that if you provided all of the information that is within the calculator in the form of the modeling reports then GBCI would let you do that when push came to shove. Depending on the software used that may or may not even be possible. In order to ensure that you are providing all the information needed for the review you would need to do most of the work required of filling out the forms anyway.

The Minimum Energy Performance calculator is listed as a required upload in the EA prerequisite Minimum Energy Performance form at LEEDonline. The form says:
Upload: Minimum Energy Performance Calculator
Provide the completed Minimum Energy Performance Calculator (found under the prerequisite's "Resources" tab in the
Credit Library).
