We have large area of natural landscape with vegetative and adapted vegetation in certain percent of it. Our problem is that we are not sure about the requirements to have a valid area with vegetative/adapted vegetation, for example the maximum possible distance between two plants, or if we have a row of trees, how should we measure that area because we have the length but we are not sure about the width.
Thank you for you time.

Hi Maximiliano,
There’s no hard and fast rule about plant distance. I think you'd just want to be sure that the area you’re including as compliant is ecologically appropriate, promotes habitat/biodiversity, and is vegetated with native/adapted plants. There’s a relevant LEED Interpretation about trees and tree canopies that might be useful to check out (LI #2324). I think the area covered by native/adapted trees would be assessed by looking at the canopy as long as there is appropriate vegetation beneath and not hardscape per the LI.
