EBOM-2009 IEQp1:Minimum IAQ Performance

Measured rates far exceeding ASHRAE requirements

Just compared the OA rates measured at each AHU by the TAB contractor with our ASHRAE calculations. For some of the AHU's the actual OA (as measured by the TAB guy) far exceeds the min OA required of the AHU per ASHRAE. Technically this credits requires that you have no less than the minimum, but has anyone had an issue with the reviewer complaining about over ventilation of the spaces?

Nena, No LEED issue with providing more than the minimum. However, there is an energy cost associated with providing more than the minimum amount of OA. Consider having the TAB contractor reduce the OA to the minimum if the amount is way too much.

Dylan, Thank you for the response! Yes, I agree makes no sense to over ventilate spaces so much - waste of energy and $.
