Hi everyone,
We are currently working with a mixed-use building which has offices, commerce and a hotel.
Our inquiry is regarding the hotel's section lighting project. Following ASHRAE 90.1-2007 considerations for this building type, this type of section should consider HVAC and building envelope within 'Residential' systems and constructions categories. Therefore, should our hotel adopt residential considerations in order to register lighting energy savings? By this we mean, do we have to work with 'Energy Star MFHR Simulation Guidelines' and its section 'In-Unit Lighting' with the assistance of its calculator? Or should we just model the installed lighting capacity of the hotel's proposed project for lighting savings?

No, hotel rooms are covered in 90.1 in Table 9.6.1 at 1.1 watts/sf.
