NC-2009 IEQc6.1:Controllability of Systems—Lighting

Lighting control in prison cells

There are 3 levels of lighting that the lighting can adjust to within the prison cells in a jail but the inmates will not have the capability to control their own lighting, the controls will be at the deputy desk. Would this still qualify to meet the credit intent for lighting controls?

Wow--that's an interesting question, Sananda. I doubt that this will qualify, but I'm afraid you may have to submit a formal query to GBCI to know for sure.

I agree with Nadav. The v2009 IEQ space matrix does list Correctional Facilities Cells as individual occupant spaces for EQc6.1. I don't see any exemption notes.
