Is lift energy included as a process load as part of the 25% minimum requirement for process loads?
If so are there any references or guidance on how to estimate its energy consumption. We have some rule of thumb guidelines e.g 6-11kwh/m2 per year for commerical office buildings depending on the height of the buidlngs and usage patterns. Can we use this?
Second question is can we account for energy saving lifts with VVF drives, destination control and regernative lift drives for example?
If so has anyone sucessfully demonstarted this and can it be reduced given the requiremt for 25% process loads to be the same in the baseline and acutal model

Hi Julian,
Yes lift energy is part of the default 25% process load (it's not a requirement though, it's a default reference...).
Cannot you ask your lift supplier for technical data? It varies quite a lot from models and from region to region, just to give you an example; in 2010, the consumption of a KONE EcoSpace was 900 – 1100 kWh/year in Europe, 3000 – 3500 kWh/year in Asia and 1900 – 2200 kWh/year in the US...
I haven't demonstrated anything but if you want to be under those 25% process load, you will have to document in details all your process load data and calculations to demonstrate how you do to be better than the 25%...
