NC-v4 EQc2:Low emitting materials

Letter from Manufacture for VOC compliance

Dear LEED Users,

I have two question:

1. Is a letter from the manufacturer stating VOC emission and VOC content as per related standard eg. CDPH and SCAQMD sufficient for the credit compliance?

2. Are coating materials applied on roof required VOC testing ? I asked this because I found roof coating material is exist in LEED Low Emitting Material calculator.

1. I have received comments back requiring the VOC emissions certificate - they did not accept just the manufacturer letter.  For VOC content, though, the manufacturer letter should suffice. 2. You don't need roof coatings to comply, except maybe if it's a medical project.  For non-medical, only products within the vapor barrier need to comply.

Thanks Cindyl for your input, much appreciate. I also need further clarification regarding VOC emission test.  1. If the manufacturer provides a test report from its own laboratory (CDPH standards) for VOC emissions. Is that enough to comply? or should provide certificate from third party.
