Dear All,

My project aims to LEED v4 Open Space credit. I have an inquiry about how to treat a promenade in my project that is mainly used for pedestrians, but occasionally for cars. Please note that this question is not asking about the quantity of open space and vegetated open space. With or without counting the promenade, my project can comply with 30% open space and 25% of the open space area to be vegetated.

The design direction of the promenade is to promote pedestrians' enjoyment. However, on some occasions, the promenade allows accessing cars so that the design still considers being car road (i.e. width for car circulation and materials etc.). Again, whether or not we count it as open space does not impact on our compliance with the LEED credit open space. I am wondering how to treat this case in checking the compliance.

Please help us to clarify.
