I am somewhat confused by the Minimum Energy Performance Calculator, Opaque Assemblies sheet: "All baseline existing roofs, above-grace exterior walls, below-grade exterior walls, exposed floors, slab-on-grade floors, and opaque doors were modeled using the existing conditions prior to any revisions in spaced with unchanged space conditioning categories".
Base on the LEED v4 ID&C Reference guide, the baseline envelope is to be modeled as per G3.1.(5)(baseline), Sections a-e, and not Section f. Therefore I have to answer "No" to the statement but I am supposed to provide the ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G exceptoin that applies. In this case, it is not an App G exception but rather a requirement of LEED.
My question - should I model the baseline envelope using the 90.1-2010 performance requirements or should I model the baseline envelope using the existing conditions?

The Standard did not change in this regard so model the previously existing conditions if applicable.

Digging more deep into this situation. I am in a situation where i have used the baseline envelop design as my base and design case since the project owners have not shared information on the building envelop what so ever and therefore we have no idea what the building envelop looks like. Is it ok to consider the ASHRAE base case section a-e?
