Can someone with prior experience tell me what documents are typically required for Precertification?
I understand that I have to fill a Precertification spreadsheet with explanation on strategies along with 'any supporting documentation'.
Now I am not clear what supporting documentation means here. For instance, in EAp2 Minimum Energy Performance credit, we upload MEPC spreadsheet with inputs from Energy model and similar calculations and documentation for other credits. Are we supposed to fill that out and include with this submittal or wait until we get a response back from USGBC?
I have responded to LEED Review comments before so I am aware of the documentation process, but I have never started a LEED project from scratch.

The following documents are required:
- Precertification Worksheet
- Site plan showing LEED Project Boundary
- Photos, renderings, or drawings of the project, both inside and outside.
- Sections/Elevations
- Mechanical schedules and plans
- Floor plans
This is typically we provide during Precertification.

Is there a benefit to do the precertification versus the combined or split timeline? Would the precertification avoid a third party audit of the LEED certification of our project? If one decides to go with the precertification how do you submit it, or where do you upload it on the website? Same goes for all the maps, sections, floor plans, etc that the precertification requires, how do we upload them? Thank you in advence.

The benefit of precertification is typically that the owner requires some formal documentation of commitment to LEED before they are ready to submit for Design review. For example, a lender or local planning authority can ask for precertification to have the project's LEED strategy validated while it is still in early design. Or some developers select precertification so they can market the project to tenants as a LEED building. If you're not in that situation, it's not worth pursuing - it won't affect the rest of your review.
If you do pursue precertification, you will have a separate tab for uploads that you use for all those documents.

I registered a new project and I automatically got the pre certification option which I didn't ask for and I don't want
how to get rid of it?

In LEED Online click on Timeline and you should be able to change to the certification timeline to what you want.

Did it work for you? At the timeline tab, i wasnt able to change the timeline and it was fixed at making pre payment for Precertification preliminary review.
