Is the LEED AP certificate of BD+C accepted for ID+C projects? Or would a Legacy LEED AP certificate be accepted - We have both persons working on the project not sure which to upload. Can someone provide a clarification?

Hi!
I Think you will find the response under step 1 in the reference guide, page 786.
SteP 1. enGAGe Leed AP with SPeCiALtY
Identify a project team member who is a LEED AP with specialty, or engage a LEED AP with specialty to
support the project and participate in the certifcation process.
· Select a team member with a LEED AP Building Design & Construction (LEED AP BD+C) credential.
· The LEED AP with specialty identifed for this credit must have an active credential at the time of
certifcation review (see Further Explanation, Maintaining a LEED Credential).
· LEED aPs without specialty (legacy LEED aPs) do not qualify for this credit.

Hi Maria,
Page 786 is for v4. Do you know if the same applies for v2009?
Page 422 of the LEED v2009 ID+C guide states (under the implementation header) that CONSIDER selecting a LEED AP experienced with LEED CI. Its doesn't appear to force the issue and we were wondering if our credit would pass with a BD+C LEED AP certificate or not? Can you provide additional light on this?
Thanks.

Rowena,
Oh, sorry didn’t see the v2009 (wonder how I ended up seeing your question, think they are sometimes strangely linked?). Because the same wording is in v4 CI as in NC/CS.
For 2009 I can only go from experience: I have BD+C specialty AP. And I have successfully submitted and earned credit in two CI v2009 projects with this in 2014. So you should be fine then! With both the legacy and the BD+C person. Just chose one!

Hi Maria,
Yes I understand. A lot of the text is similar in the guides.
Thank you so much, your response is very reassuring.
I have the Legacy LEED AP and the BD+C Specialty AP certificate. My colleague has the BD+C Specialty AP certificate which we have uploaded. So I think we should have this one in.
I appreciate the time you have taken to provide guidance on the question.
Take care.
