NC-2009 SSc2:Development Density and Community Connectivity

LEED 2009 Credit SSc2 Development Density and Community Connectivity

Hello, we are working on a Hotel Project in Chicago, where we had 10 basic services within a 1/2 mile radius, but one of the services (Convenience Market) has closed in the last year (during Construction of the Project).  My question is there any addenda or previous interpretations that would allow for services to be outside of 1/2" provided there are a shuttle and mass transit service (similar to credit SSc4)?

This project is adjacent to a downtown urban area that includes multiple additional basic services. These services are 3/4 of mile from the Hotel entrance.

Any feedback would be great.

Andrew -  No, providing an on-demand shuttle is not an option for credit achievement. Without knowing the location, it might be worth confirming if it meets the density thresholds, sometimes that is surprisingly easy. Or hunt for another basic service. You can count one basic service within the project boundary and 2 basic services can be anticipated (must be operational within 1-year of your project opening).  Good luck!

Thank you.  By density requirements, you are referring to Option 1 under SSc2?

Yes, Option 1
