Does anyone know whether LED monitors for advertisement are considered as exterior lighting? Does it need to comply with the 2.2W/m2 Exterior LPD requirement as stipulated in ASHRAE 90.1? We have a project that is designed to have a podium LED facade solely for advertisement, either stationary images or animation. Can it be excluded from the ASHRAE LPD requirement? Do I need to model the energy use of the LED podium box in our models?
