CI-v4 EQc1:Enhanced indoor air quality strategies

Interior cross contamination prevention out of scope-CI

I am working on a commercial interior fit out project that would like to pursue this credit. The base building has entryway systems and MERV filtration on outdoor handling units. if there are no janitorial closets within the CI space, and no copy rooms- would we still meet credit intent?

Yes, but is there any space with hazardous materials? if there is no janitorial space then where cleaning equipment will be kept?

Janitorial services are managed by the base building, not the tenant. So any janitorial spaces are not within the fit out scope.

Casey, did you receive any response for your case? We have the same situation on a project were there are no janitorial spaces, no copy room, etc within the LEED boundary of the project for the tenant.

Any update on this? We have similar query based on tenant scope of Works. All fresh air is provided by the basebuild AHUs with F7 filters. There is no new fresh air supply systems in the fit-out scope of work. Can the project get a point for enhanced indoor air quality - filtration? or do the air supply systems need to be in the fit-out scope of work.

Same question on one of our projects!

Would a new Unisex Restroom count as a space requrieing separate exhaust under the cross-cntaimination part of this credit? Per above responses - we do not have any other spaces that would require separate exhaust Janitor closet is out of our tenant space and is by building maintenance and copier is small and would not count. We want to be sure we document if necessary. Thank you,

Within the Requirements section of the LEED Reference Guide it states: "Comply with the following requirements, as applicable." The 'as applicable' part leads me to believe that the credit can be earned if there are no applicable rooms that fit the definition of "hazardous".  Donald, I have not experienced GBCI enforcing the cross contamination requirements on restrooms.  Hope this helps, Good Luck!
