Pilot-Credits EApc66:Community contaminant prevention - airborne releases

HVAC System Size

Rule 1111 (Amended July 8, 1983), NOx Emissions from Natural-Gas-Fired, FanType Central Furnaces limits system sizes to 65,000 Btu/h cooling and 175,000 Btu/h. Can projects that have systems larger than these, can noted size attain this pilot credit? For example: A project may have a heating requirement of 300,000 Btu/hr. This can be accomplished with a single system that meet this capacity and is capable of staging, or 2 systems that are individually 150,000 Btu/hr.

I have the same question. Our assumption  was they are exempt.

I am submitting for two twin projects that each have a Natural-Gas-Fired, Fan-Type Central Furnace with an input of 200,000 BTUH which we have understood to be exempt from this requirement (as it is greater than 175,000 BTUH). We are still going after the pilot credit as we do also have water heaters and boilers that are within the bounds of the credit language and are compliant. I would say this credit is achievable if you have units which are applicable and they are in compliance.

I agree. We achieved this pilot credit on at least two projects. If you have the right systems and the right exemptions it's pretty easy.
