Hoping someone can help us understand the BPDO-Environmental Product Disclosure credit for Industry-Wide EPDs.
Our team received an Industry-Wide EPD for Fabricated Hot-Rolled Structural Sections, with 2 (two) manufactures listed as part of the participants. The contractor provided us with manufacturer letters from each manufacturer. LEED ID #10425 indicates that "A single industry-wide (generic) EPD can be used for up to 10 products listed within the industry-wide EPD, provided that each application has separately reported impacts within the EPD." This Industry-Wide EPD that was provided to us is solely for one product but has more than 1 (one) manufacturer explicitly recognized as a participant, can this EPD contribute once or twice on our project?
Thank you,
Estra

I have the same situation on a current proejct. Were you able to count the EPD for both manufactures in your proejct? Thank you for your time.

If the Industry-wide EPD was solely for one product but has more than 1 (one) manufacturer explicitly recognized as a participant, you will have to count once for the project. For example, the industry-wide EPD provided for Steel Deck product with declaration holder Steel Deck Institute lists several manufacturers, such as ASC Steel Deck; Bushwick Metals, LLC; Canam; Cordeck; DACS, Inc.; Epic Metals Corp; Gooder-Henrichsen Co.; Marlyn Steel Decks, Inc.; Miami Metal Deck; New Millennium Building Systems; OEG Building Materials; Roof Deck, Inc.; Seyco Deck; Sloan Supply Company, Inc.; Tri-State Decking, Inc.; Valley Joist; Verco Decking, Inc.; and Vulcraft Group, Nucor Corporation.
If the project is using multiple steel deck products from these participating manufacturers, such as one from Tri-state and one from Vulcraft, the project may only claim Industry-wide EPD for one participating manufacturer. The project may use multiple 10 products listed within the industry-wide EPD if Life Cycle Impact Assessment has been provided for each application separately within the EPD. You can find this information within the Life Cycle Assessment Results and Analysis section of the EPD. Products that have the same material, formulation, manufacturer, and function. Unless the documentation describes different functional/declared units or includes different impacts from different product lines, the LCA analysis is conducted for that functional unit and cannot be considered as more than one product.
Hope this helps!

This helps, thank you so much. The EPD I have is for ceramic tile. I have more than one of the manufactures used on a proejct, but it appears the LCA is for only one functional unit. Thank you for your time.
