How to know when is the right time to submit for design review?

The project is about to start (after the COVID-19) lockdown and so money is tight - so how long can we wait to submit for design review?  This is my first LEED project how do I know when it is the right time to submit for the design review?  What are the indicators to tell you now is the time to do it?  At the point all the documents are in place for those points? or what??

thank you.

If cash flow is the concern you could change from a split review to a combined review and submit all the documentation at the end of construction.  I don't like doing this since some design-phase items can be subjective and it is much easier to change a drawing prior to construction to address review comments than it is to modify construction after the project has been constructed and occupied.

Lauren - assuming this is a LEED v4 project. If it was registered under LEED 2009, note the sunset date of June 30, 2021. As this is your first project, I recommend you subscribe to the LEED v4 web-based reference guide which we have found to be a valuable resource. Good luck!
