Hi Everyone,
I'm working on a project that's exploring SSpc129 Comprehensive Composting, with a focus on onsite compost processing. Our goal is to enhance waste management and sustainability efforts.
I'm seeking insights from anyone with experience in onsite compost processing. Information about logistics, maintenance, challenges, or best practices would be incredibly valuable.
Thank you for any advice or experiences you can share.
Best,
Teresa

Hi Teresa.
I'm not sure where you are located, but there are many local composting companies around the country now and some municipalities also do compost collection and processing. I am working on a project in Kansas City that is using Missouri Organics for hauling. I would start there with figuring what are the hauling and processing options in your area. If your project has room for an onsite composting compactor that can help save space for food/landscaping waste storage if space is an issue. These machines extract the liquid out of the waste to reduce its volume before it is picked up. You need to also establish your frequency for pickup, i.e. weekly, after large events, etc. depending on your project type! Educating your users is also very important. Signage at the collection bins which clearly indicates what can be composted is super important in ensuring the hauls don't get contaminated. Good Luck!
