We have found a product that is Green Squared Certified. There is no mention on the certificate of a Level 1, 2 or 3 certification. Where would we find this information if it is not on the G2 certificate? We would also like to know what it means to have to "achieve credit 3.8.1". Is that part of the certification criteria? How do we determine if the product achieved this credit?

The Pilot Credit language requires "the manufacturer to publically disclose the credit achievement results of the product on which certification has been granted." This would require the manufacturer to issue the Green Squared scorecard (like the LEED checklist) and then you could verify achievement of credit 3.8.1. This is the most challenging part of the Pilot Credit because most of these third-party certification programs do NOT publically release scorecards. Also, some of the third-party certification standards are only available for purchase, so it's difficult to understand what is required under "credit 3.8.1" and how it informs your product selection process. I recommend asking the manufacturer if they will send you a copy of the scorecard.
Also, the Pilot Credit is targeting credits that require life cycle assessments or EPDs conforming to ISO 14025 and ISO 21930 or EN 15804. I would guess that "credit 3.8.1" requires an EPD. When doing preliminary calculations for this Pilot Credit, I recommend calculating contributions from third-party certifications and EPDs as a first step. Hope this helps!
