NC-v4 EAc7:Green power and carbon offsets

Green-e equivalency

I have a question regarding using carbon credits (CERs) from a Clean Development Mechanism project for a New Construction V4 project. We are considering using CERs (Certified Emissions Reductions) as carbon offsets. We wonder about the validity of the CERs as carbon offsets. CERs are issued by UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) to a CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) project. That CDM project is now allowed to sell those carbon credits (CERs) and we want to use them for the credit. Would this qualify as green-e equivlant? Thank you in advance.

I don't know. You will need to demonstrate equivalency which has been discussed many times in the LEED v2009 forums.
