NC-v4 EAc6:Enhanced refrigerant management

Glycol for anti-freeze

Hi

In Denmark our chillers are located at the roof, where there in the winter is a risk of freezing. The refrigerant in the cooling units are ammonia.

I have not been able to find any answers in LEED v4 manual, but should the liquid used for anti-freezing the pipes (30% glycol solution) be included in the calculation?

Hi Lise, in my experience it is not required to include glycol solution in the credit calculations, as it is considered an "antifreezer".
