This credit states that the frequency of analysis should be at least quarterly in the first year. It doesn't state what specific analysis should be done though. Does anyone have guidance on this? I'm assuming functional performance tests only need to happen every 2 years.

Walker,
Presuming you're referencing Step 5 of the Step-by-Step Guidance section for this credit in the Reference Guide, the language there is a little more specific. The first point states that Cx activities must occur at least quarterly, regardless of the year since operations began. Point two specifies that reports should be filed on a quarterly basis during the first year and on an annual basis thereafter. Additionally, the Ongoing Commissioning Schedule Example in the Further Explanation section shows commissioning activities scheduled quarterly, ensuring that all Cx tasks be completed within a two-year cycle.
My interpretation here is that to achieve this credit, commissioning activities need to be completed quarterly throughout occupancy. In the first year of operations, the team completing these activities should file quarterly reports of their findings. Afterward, reporting frequency may be reduced to once per year.
The exact activities and analyses to perform each quarter will vary upon the systems and requirements of the facility. Testing functional performance is obviously a major component, but the analyses can also include calibrating sensors and devices, trending metered points and ensuring they fall within acceptable parameters, and analyzing utility consumption data. Creating a detailed Ongoing Commissioning Plan that specifies roles and responsibilities, activities and tasks, and frequency is vital to the success of implementing this process.

Hi,
So, can I ask question about Ongoing Commissioning. When I read the reference book and steps of Ongoing Commissioning, the required documents are there: plans (Cx,CFR,O&M), systems manual, List of activities and tasks implemented as part of ongoing Cx.
Must other relationship with commissioning credits (existing building Cx analysis and implementation) do, before ongoing cx ? Or can ongoing commissioning done alone?
Best regards.

Hello Berk,
The full implementation of your ongoing commissioning plan could satisfy the requirements of all three, existing building Cx analysis, implementation, and ongoing Cx. You'd need to make sure that all of the individual requirements for each credit were met to successfully achieve all three.
