Schools-2009 IEQc4.2:Low-Emitting Materials—Paints and Coatings

Fluid Applied Air Barriers

We are a General Contractor working on a school project and the specs require submittal of product data for the air barrier as part of IEQc4.2. IEQc4.2 refers to paints and coatings used on the inside of the building (inside of the weatherproofing system and applied on-site). Since the air barrier is part of the weatherproofing system, does product data for this item need to be included in order to obtain the credit?

Hi Nilo, products that are part of the weatherproofing barrier are exempt from these requirements. An addendum was released in 2010 that removed the prior requirement to include products like this.
