I'm working on a project where the building owner is going to provide several Fan&Coil units, the fan control of these units has 4 different presets of velocity being: super high, high, medium, low. The velocity is controlled automatically and can be over written from the BMS.
Would it be correct to model the fan control as variable speed? since constant volume would not be correct and two speed wouldn't be as accurate as it could behave. Software being used is eQuest. Thanks in advanced!

Variable speed would not be accurate either and would not produce a conservative level of savings.
We see three options. You could try to create a custom fan curve which would probably be the most accurate way to do this. You could also come up with a way to create some sort of average fan power/speed between the four setting to create two settings but you might run into unmet load hours. You could also just enter the super high and medium fan power/speed which would produce a conservative level of savings.
