CS-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
Hi,
what surface type should be used for overhang construction if using Addendum i or 90.1-2010 version? The "Canopies and overhangs" category for Tradable Surfaces are missing within addendum and 2010 Standard and I'm not sure what to use. There is only Entrance canopies category and it does not fit for my almost 16 m overhang where is no entrance.

You have to use the surface type that fits the best. If it is not a sales canopy it is an entry canopy. That is the more conservative approach and should be accepted.

I've been having a hard finding whether or not 90.1-2010 or LEED have given any technical definition for what qualifies as a "Sales Canopy". Any reference you know of would be greatly appreciated.
So, would you categorize common parking canopies as "Entry Canopies"?

I am not aware of a definition for sales canopy beyond the obvious.
I am not sure exactly what you have in mind for a parking canopy but the image that comes to me would be something you might see in front of a hotel. That is usually associated with the entry to the front door so it would be an entry canopy.

I'm more referring to freestanding, unattached canopies, often found in the middle of a parking lot. (They're becoming a rather popular place to lay solar panels on top of these days.)

Parking. It does not matter if you are lighting it from a pole or a canopy.

If you are lighting the parking this way (or any way for that matter) make sure to only include the area of parking/drives that meets the minimum illumination levels for parking lots.
