Hi,
I'm working in a project that has operable windows in the toilets. I would like to know if those windows comply with the item mandatory 5.18.5 Exhaust System of ASHRAE 62.1-2007 or do I need to install a mechanical exhaust system to comply with the mandatory?

You'll need to use a mechanical exhaust system. Operable windows only apply to ventilation.

Roger,
Do we need to provide fresh air for toilets...I'm surprised on a query from GBCI asking me to include all occupiable spaces (in which logically toilets have to be included). Generally toilets are designed for exhaust air requirements....my project has been designed for the same.....in this regard, how do i show fresh air compliance in VRP sheet....or should i include exhaust air calculations in VRP.....i'm heading clueless on this. Appreciate if you can throw some light on this.
Thanks
Sriman
