Our elementary school has adapted the EPA Tools for Schools Policy to address all components of indoor air quality. Tools for schools seems to cover the I-Beam criteria. Our team was wondering if the adaption of the EPA Tools for Schools policy as well as adhering to ISO standards would qualify us for this credit.

Hi Will
I can't confidently say if this would fly or not. LEED can be fairly strict around what type of tools can be used for this credit. As of now, the only tools I've seen fly are the EPA I-BEAM tool listed in the credit requirements and another one from a third-party contractor we used.
What I'd recommend is submitting a CIR to confirm if your approach is acceptable. This might be especially important if you intend to certify other projects using this approach.
Alternatively, you can try and submit using this approach and see if it gets approved in the Preliminary Review. If it doesn't, it's fairly easy and painless to complete an I-BEAM audit and I could see you easily submitting it in the Final Review. But if there is any issue with your submittal in the Final Review, you run the risk of having the credit flat-out denied.
Thanks

No Update. I contacted the folks with EPA tools for schools and they just referred me back to Hannah Bronfmans comment above.
