Dear All,
In the context of a large new Office Building (22 000 m2) which field-tests are required as a minimum under the scope of Building’s Envelope Commissioning?
In the web-based reference guide section “Futher Explanarion” it is referred that “the type of envelope and size of building will determine what tests are conducted and the equipment required”. However, we could not find any further guidance in the web-guide nor in the referenced document “NIBS Guideline 3–2006 2012 Building Enclosure Commissioning Process BECx, Annex U" regarding exactly which tests must be performed as a function of building envelope type and size.
Thanks in advance

Hi Ricardo,
I think NIBS, and also other Commissioing Guides do not include a list of mandatory tests because it very much depends on the building construction systems and owner's requirements. Some consultants decide to perform waterproofing tests, others use thermography or blower-door test... As long as your functional testing meets the requirements of the OPR, I would dare to say the credit will be accepted.
