In theory, EBOM works for a high-rise multi-family building. There is some language in the EBOM Reference Guide limiting this to buildings of 3+ stories, but otherwise no constraints on this type of building. Of course, the usual challenges in adapting EBOM to building types outside the norm (at least for EBOM) will exist here, in some instances to an even greater degree than in labs or manufacturing facilities. For example, many purchasing credits may be completely off the table because your residents are effectively tenants outside management control. In the past CIRs have noted some work-arounds for that, but current status is not entirely clear to me. Anyway, bottom line is that the EBOM rating system can do it, but it may be a bumpy ride. . .
