I am working with a facility to determine if they can meet the prerequisites for LEED EBOM. We have a question about IEQp1 and whether we can exclude any areas from this calculation? The facility is an industrial canning facility with offices. We are wondering if we must include the whole plant in this prerequisite or if we can limit the areas to the occupied office space.

I only determined it for the Potentially Critical Zones. If you look at the 6MZ Calc spreadsheet under the Directions tab, line 23, it names Inputs for Potentially Critical Zones and provides guidance for determining these zones. They're generally zones with high occupancy load and low heating or cooling loads so they don't get as much air flow from the air handlers. I've seen it worked for the whole building on other projects, but when I worked this prereq, I only did it for the interior conference room and earned the prereq.

Hi Kim - You will need to include all building spaces in this prerequisite. Up to 10% of the building can be excluded if it is under separate management control; this is the case for all prerequisites and credits except for EAp2.
