Our project is a 275,000 sf high-rise mixed use residential building in Portland, Oregon. Make Up Air (MAU) Unit provides ventilation air through the corridors and VRF fan coil units provide heating and cooling to the dwelling units. MAU is a gas fired unit and provides ventilation air to the entire building.  Baseline has been modeled as System-1 PTAC system with hot water boiler and DX cooling serving the dwelling units. Due to fuel switching between the baseline and proposed model and low cost of natural gas, the energy cost savings are significantly low. Thus we have used the Alternative Energy Performance Metric to allow an alternative metric for documenting performance improvement using Option 1. We have used source energy and GHG emission metric to determine the percentage energy savings. Has anyone had success achieving this credit for a similar building type?
