NC-2009 EAc1:Optimize Energy Performance

EAp2 Section 1.6

We have an extremely large site are to building area ratio. The building covers only 2% of the site. When we inputed the site are and minimum watts per square foot we came up with an unnaturally large number for teh Exterior Lighting baseline kWh. Since our exterior lighting is limited to a few perimeter security lights our design load is very small. This is throwing off our project efficiency, to a much higher level than Energypro Title 24 Calculations are returning. It looks like the high baseline exterior lighting value is skewing our numbers. Is there any experience with this condition?

You should only count the exterior area that is illuminated by the installed lighting design, not the entire site area. The area counted should be identical in both the baseline and proposed cases.
