I'm trying to meet this credit purchasing both RECs and Carbon Offsets for both electric and carbon consumptions. It is clear that we have to purchase them for at least five years and we can also purchase the first year and then make a commitment for the reimining years (as seen here: https://leeduser.buildinggreen.com/forum/green-power-five-year-contracts). It is also clear that the green certificates have to cover starting at occupancy.

But now I have the following situation: our building have been occupied since late 2019 and the certification lasted until now. Since when does the RECs adn Carbon Offsets should cover? Does they have to cover since 2019 or from now until five years from now?

I think that if you can document that you purchased the REC/offsets in 2019 you could start then.
