To earn the 3 points on this credit, Question 1: Do I need to know life cycle analysis for 100% of my structural and envelope products? Even small products like tightness, ...? steel that exists in concrete? If not, what percentage is needed? Question 2: Which product families should be targeted? cement, concrete, steel, what else? Question 3: I am in Morocco, our masonry products do not already have EPD or life cycle analysis, it is not necessary in this case to target this credit or we can use EPD masonry products of others country?

Hi, Sara! The whole-building LCA will be done through a software program that will take into account all the relevant materials in your building, including structure and enclosure. If you start using such software, it should guide you through the process.

Hello Paula,
I appreciate your help and advice.
Before I work on the software, I want to know if ALL (100%) the materials should be referred in the calculations or just a percentage? because, in my opinion, we can not have all materials with EPD especially for projects in Morocco. Could you please clarify for me this point?
Thanks dear Paula,

Hi Sara, you can do the WBLCA without having EPD for every product.
When a manufacturer you work with does not have an EPD, you use generic materials LCA data. In our case for example it's automatically adjusted to Moroccan region. And you can do the whole building LCA without any EPDs as well, which is also the most relevant way to do it if you have not chosen suppliers yet.
