Our project is a retail tenant located within a mall. I was wondering whether shops/ restaurants within the same mall where our projectis located but outside the project boundary/ tenant fitout ( eg restaurants, banks within the mall ) may count towards diverse uses ? Thanks

I contacted USGBC regarding a similar question, about a student union building on a college campus. The response was that as long as each entity had its own front door, cash register, etc. then it could be counted as a different diverse use. I agree that this approach meets the intent of the credit. It was a v4 BD+C project.

What do you mean by front door? Different tenants or does it have to be street- facing entrances? Thanks

Hi,
Did you have an answer to your question, or submitted your documentation with this approach?
I'm currently analyzing a project in the same context, in which the entrances to the various shops open onto interior circulation areas.
Thanks,
