Hi,
The project I am working on is combination of lab, warehouse, manufacturing and offices. The long term bike storage is located in the parking structure that is not included in the LEED boundary. The Bike facilities credit states, the distance between the long term storage and any functional entrance to the building should be 100ft. We do not satisfy that requirement. The LEED building is connected to an adjacent building on the campus though a connector, the entrance of this building is a 100ft to the long term bike storage. My question is, if the entrance to the adjacent building can be classified as a functional entry for LEED building in order to meet this credit. The two building have the same operational hours.
Thank you in advance !

I suspect GBCI would not allow a building adjacent to the LEED building to include "a functional entry" to the LEED certified building.
A recent project of mine included long-term bike storage in the lower level, however the storage was more than 100 feet from any functional entry of the building pursuing LEED. GBCI did not allow this location to count toward credit compliance.
Please post if anyone hears otherwise.
