Dear all LEED user,
We have a question about the definition of "Functional Entry" ? There is a debate in our project team about this. Some consider this to be the main entrance to the building and the other one to the site entrance. What is the exact definition for LEED?
Thanks a lot for your answers

This definition can be found in the USGBC Glossary. "functional entry: a building opening designed to be used by pedestrians and open during regular business hours. It does not include any door exclusively designated as an emergency exit, or a garage door not designed as a pedestrian entrance." https://www.usgbc.org/glossary#letterf

@Marion did you find out if site entry can be considered as functional entry for the project?

@Prajakta you can consider every entry that can be used by building users a functional entry.. if it works both ways, it is functional :) ! Exceptions are, as Summer already added, in the definition (emergency exit and garage door not designed for pedestrian entrance (not accessible from outside)).
