We have a question about the energy simulation of a Data Center. We have completed the v4 Minimum Energy Performance Calculator introducing full IT and initial IT loads. After completing the calculator, we have obtained 13 points but we hope to reach 18 points with the contribution of photovoltaic energy.
As it is a Data Center, it will initially work with loads far below it total capacity. In this project, it is not feasible to pour the surplus electricity produced into the grid. Thus, initially, while the CPD does not operate at full load, energy will be generated and discarded. LEED establish a 50% improvement above baseline to reach 18 points, but it is not clear if we must use full IT loads or initial IT loads. We appreciate your answers in order to be able to design the renewable energy instalation.
Thanks in advance

In the General Information tab of the Minimum Energy Performance Calculator, there should be a "Rating System Variation" section for the Data Center rating system which allows you to chose between using the full buildout IT loads or the average of the results for the full buildout IT loads and the startup IT loads to determine prerequisite and credit and compliance. Using the average of the full buildout and startup IT loads might be more applicable in your situation.
