Does anyone know if the CxA would be allowed to come from the same firm as the team that performed design up through 100%DD and then peer review of the design-build trades that took over design for CD phase? Would this differ for fundamental vs. enhanced? The project is LEEDv4 CI of about 17,000sf. Thanks in advance!

The CxA is allowed to be employed by the design firm and perform Fundamental Cx roles.
If the CxA is employed by the design team and has design responsibilities the project must be less than 20,000 square feet in order for this entity to be able to perform Fundamental Cx roles.
It sounds like your project is handing over design roles once 100% DD is complete. I would expect that GBCI would allow the project to pursue Enhanced Cx in this scenario. Enh Cx roles during the design phase include developing the outline of the Systems Manual and owner training requirements. In my opinion, these roles would not conflict with the interests of the design team.
Hope this helps.

Yes it does! Especially your note that GBCI should not consider the ECx specific activities during the design phase to present a conflict of interest if done by someone of the same firm. Thank you!!
