We are having a hotel project that would like to attempt this credit. all the guestroom will have individual control to suit the occupant's needs.
For FOH and BOH area, i wonder if it complies with the requirement for those shared use premises such as restaurant and lounge that all lights can be adjusted/controlled through BMS system without local light switches. Since the building is solely owned by the operator, this control is more convenient and avoid any adjustment by the guests.

Hi Jonathan,
Based on your description I would guess that you still would need to have controls for those areas. The intent of the credit is less around convenience and more around the benefits of control to individual occupants. If you check out the space matrix you can find some space areas that seem similar to what you describe such as the Dining category under Food Service Facilities. In that instance, it's suggested that that space be included in the requirements.

Some time back I submitted a CIR for a dining hall in an office building. It was made very clear that a control accessable by users is required. You will need it even though I agree it does not make much sense.
