NC-v4 EQc3:Construction indoor air quality management plan

Construction IAQ Management Plan during demolition phase?

For a major renovation project, should we implement the Construction IAQ Management Plan in our unoccupied building during the demolition phase?  The reference guide says to implement the plan before above the ground construction begins, but I can see how some of the SMACNA strategies may be useful to implement during demolition.

Hello Elizabeth,  How did you handle this issue? Did the reviewers asked for reports during demolition?

Hi Maria and Elizabeth, Yes, we should. As Elizabeth said above, the LEED guide states to ensure that the IAQ management plan is in place before starting above-ground construction, storing materials on site, and etc (page 680). And demolition is under these steps as well.
By implementing SMACNA IAQ strategies, projects will capture dust and other airborne pollutants, keep contaminants and toxic substances out of building systems, and prevent mold and other damage to building materials. The SMANCA IAQ strategies such as HVAC protection, source control, pathway interruption, etc. Pls kindly refer to link below for example of credit documentation.
